Exxon Has Record Profits – Good or Bad for America?

Pub Date:2008-03-16 00:00:00 Author: Click:568 Category: 110th congress

In almost every case, when an American company does well, no matter how large, it is more often than not good for us all. Such as share holders, employees, charities that most companies donate to, & the government (We the People) in the form of many various taxes.

In this instance the commodity price is dictated by the market and NOT the company. Therefore the market must create the appropriate price NOT government intervention.

If the market decides to create viable alternatives for Exxon’s product then the price falls. The market can choose to drive more fuel efficient vehicles, use less energy at home, explore in areas the government prohibits in the interim. Until people start acting with common sense instead of political insanity and alter their habits then there is not a problem because the masses fail to voice their concerns with the right action.
